Flying back North

Today I have to fly back to Alaska in order to prepare for my husband who is returning from this ridiculous war in Afghanistan. I feel super duper nervous and I have a bad feeling about the whole thing BECAUSE number 1!!!! I watched the movie The Grey which is a VERY DEPRESSING MOVIE (don't watch it before bed)
but anyway in the movie they are in Alaska and the plane crashes and all the survivors decide to hike south to find help but these wolves are following them and in the end everyone dies :(. number 2 I was finishing packing last night and a dang documentary came on PBS Frontline about flying with regional airlines and the safety hazards. watch Flying Cheap on Frontline So apparently although you book your flight through Delta that doesn't mean delta pilots will fly you the entire time. On my flight it says my first flight was operated by Skywest airlines. On the documentary it talks about the Colgan Air plane crash in 2009 and how the standards for those pilots are not the standards of the partner which was Continental Airlines, and how the pilots were VERY inexperienced and that was the reason for the crash.

So now I'm freaking out because my first flight is through a regional Skywest airlines and my second flight is to Alaska. My husband says I'm just tripping and I checked the safety sheet for skywest and delta and they both are good but of course once I dug deeper and looked on the FAA website you see some stuff you don't want to like (we are siting this airline because they didn't fix the nose on the plane or the changed the weight of the baggage area).... just venting my nervousness

Toe Shoes!! Vibrams

My toe shoes! caught them on sale at REI

Really?? Lol wow for real son

So 1st things 1st something funny (to you guys) my birthday is coming up and this is what I hear from my mom " I am going to get you an early birthday gift" (me) okay what? ( my mom) "its a membership to the gym!".... NOW I know I should be ecstatic but I was thinking wooooooow for real??? Lol I know I got some jiggle in the middle but dang mama! Lol but thats my mother for ya lol let me tell yall some other awesome things she has said " wow I can tell you are losing weight because I can see cellulite" and " your son really stretched out your belly WHEW he messed you up" (talking to my son) " look what you did to mommy's belly".... so after hearing all of that encouragement I should have figured about the "surprise a gym membership" stuff lol

ANYWHO.. so I went to my moms gym for the 1st time and I have no idea but I always get nervous before I work out ( why I have no clue but I imagine the worst like tripping on the treadmill and busting my nose open) so I get there and have no clue where anything is but I keep it cool and dont panic I jump on the treadmill and do a 2 min jog warm-up then walk around looking like a lost puppy until I go to ask the front desk... so the dude at the desk has a silky slicked back ponytail he is light skinned with green eyes I was like what what lol he looked Brazilian but I didnt ask... the funny thing was that I have NO clue if he was fit or not because I was just lost looking at his eyes and trying to figure out what 2 races makes a black-latino looking dude with GREEN eyes!! But green eye guy was no help he couldn't even get me a jump rope booooo but he did tell me where everything was yay! (By the way I HATE IT when cute guys work at gyms.. I mean im not looking for a man but I dont want you seeing me in my sweaty glistening funky-ness LOL (and UNFORTUNATELY I sweat like a 24 yr old burly football player instead of a girl so I dont even try the being cute at the gym thing LOL MY CLOTHES DONT EVEN MATCH LOL  I wore purple cotton capris and a green and yellow shirt today SEXY HUH lol))

So back to the gym. I did a zuzkalight workout and left... I REALLY could've done it at home but i would rather not to sweat on carpet and yoga mats.....BUT GUESS WHAT I REALIZED!!! I have screwed up feet!! Apparently I lean towards the inside of my feet when I walk so my old workout shoes KILLED my feet every time I jumped....I am getting some toe shoes soon (hopefully) so I hope that helps but I might need to see a podiatrist :-/

oh yea I go mostly paleo today wish me luck  day 1 ...August 8th will be my day 30

Big flop

So I was suppose to update the weight on jun 30th and nothing changed I am the same but  would like to point out I am not 100% Paleo and I was slacking on the swimming.... you know how your body has a certain weight range that it is able to maintain well mine is between 179-183 so if I screw up then im back in that range... I have tried counting calories but the problem with that is I like to cook my food  and I dont have time to weigh out a piece of meat or add the calories of each ingredient and then figure out how many calories one portion size is... what I could do is just buy a bunch of frozen meals and use that as my calories but I still would have to cook for my kid... that is why I decided to do the paleo thing in the first place because it was no calorie counting blah blah blah... so I guess I will have to take the plunge and go 100% paleo with no breads (which is easier than I thought it would be) no processed food (easy) and no diary (VERY hard for me :( ....) so I guess I should go out and buy some coconut milk other bloggers have had great success  which only losing a few lbs but TONS of inches..... OK so since im saying it on here I have to do it so that I wont look like a liar :-/
98%Paleo starting monday 7/9/12 lol i have to get rid of this junk in the house 1st........ by the way if I do cheat it will be with dark chocolate, yogurt or cheese but only 1 cheat a week

Cheesy awesomeness yum!!

Ok so I just had one of those cook what you have in the cabinet and fridge days and I ended up with homemade tomato sauce and delicious meatballs with Parmesan and mozzerella cheese YUMMERS!!!

so this blog is so that I can remember what the heck I did lol
ok The Sauce I had 1 large tomato and I cubed it ( I tossed most of the mushy parts) and then I sliced up1/4 of a onion, 1/3 of a red pepper and 1/3 of a green pepper all of these were chopped in a mini food processor and then I added 1 whole can of tomato paste and water and I let it bubble and I added basil (A LOT) and garlic flakes, black pepper freshly grated and some salt

Meatballs
I had some grass feed beef 2 eggs and cumin (A LOT) and onion powder black pepper and some Ritz crackers that i crumbled up... then I mixed and made them into ball shapes and I poured a lot of Worcestershire sauce and a little soy sauce on them and I baked them for 15-20 minutes in a glass pan with foil covering it then I drained the sauce out  and added strips of mozzarella on each one and then I added the sauce on top and the rest of the mozzarella on top of that and bake a little to get a little melting cheese action and then add the Parmesan and bake until Parmesan turns brown
* I had about .35lbs of mozzarella... 1lb of beef

the meatballs are very cumin-y but the sauce and cheese go perfectly with it yum i feel like a genius lol
as you can see I ate first and then I was like WHAT WHAT I need to write this down

Rice flour pancakes

So this morning I decided to try making rice flour pancakes and once again I found a recipe online to follow rice flour pancakes
In that persons version of the recipe she uses sugar instead of honey, she does not use cow milk and she does not use any flavoring extract.
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup of rice flour
1 egg beaten
1 teaspoon oil
1/4 cup of honey
1 teaspoon almond extract
nutmeg
a table spoon
I mixed the dry ingredients in a bowl and then I slowly added the milk... afterwards I added the honey and I noticed the honey made the mixture really runny so I added 2 additional tablespoons of  rice flour to get the mixture thick again.. then I added the egg and oil and poured it on my skillet
The taste is different but its not bad I sprinkled some nutmeg on top of the cakes to aid with the flavor and that did the trick ( next time I will add it into the batter)
I will make these again :)
